Spanish:
Software
Virtuoso/Conductor- Software/Hardware package is used to practice and improve listening and speaking skills in the foreign language lab.
Exam View –Software used to create exams, tests, quizzes. A test data bank was provided by our publisher. Later, this program will be integrated with our CPS clickers.
Photostory - Students use this program to create short photo videos that they narrate in Spanish. These correspond with the current unit’s vocabulary and are later watched in class as a review. The projects allow us to review pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar in an innovative way.
Powerpoint – used by students and teachers to reinforce vocabulary and grammar
Microsoft word – used to communicate with parents via webpage. Students use this program (and other word processing programs) to complete assignments.
Outlook – Email- used to communicate with parents about students
Netsupport –program downloaded in the language lab that allows teachers to monitor students as they work in the lab.
Online Resources
Conjuguemos- This site allows students to practice conjugations and vocabulary. It allows rote vocabulary/ grammar practice to take place outside of the classroom which allows more time for communicative activities in the classroom. This site is also used as a remediation tool.
Prentice Hall Online Text Book –This sites allows students to leave their textbook at home. They can access text book pages, complete activities, and study online. Classroom grammar videos are also accessible via this site.
Quia- Online quiz program that allows teachers to create games and quizzes.
Class Webpages – These sites are created by each teacher and serve as communication between the teacher and his/her students and their parents. Most sites contain the following information – Quiz/Test dates, homework assignments, class syllabus, and links to helpful online tutorials, review games, and resources.
Hardware
Language Lab - 30 computers but 2 control computers –specifically designed to operate with our Sony Virtuoso software. This lab is equipped with 30 headphones and microphones needed to practice listening and speaking.

French:
I do use the microphone on a daily basis because I think the students can hear my voice better. I also have them use it for oral presentations.
I use the elmo projector daily for note taking, showing pictures, work examples, and other instruction.
I use my computer daily. My book comes with software that includes many useful things like tests, extra practice, sound files, instructional DVD, clip art, and an interactive tutor. It is called the Holt One Stop teacher planner. Of course I use the DLP projector for this as well. I use powerpoint for slide shows to practice/drill vocab. I also use an interactive flashcard system that came with my book called "before you know it" flashcards. Students can practice vocab/verbs/grammar through a flashcard system that can be timed, adjusted for difficulty, etc.
I use many CDs and sound files from www.french.about.com. This would be for listening comprehension practice.

Latin:
I use Microsoft Word and Power Point. I don’t have any specialized programs for Latin. As far as hardware goes, I use the projector almost daily and the elmo quite often. Occasionally I will use the DVD player to show a clip for culture or history.
Uses the same equipment as other foreign language teachers. Also uses Latin language CD's for students.
German:
Uses the same equipment as other foreign language teachers. I use the Komm Mit computer activities that go with my Komm Mit series. Those include listening activities and online review activities that I use with every chapter.
