Michael, please list all technology used in this department as well as ways it is being used.

LCD Projector
As a history department, we use the projector to display power point presentations, class notes, and vidoes.

ELMO
The elmo is used to display historical primary source documents that can be discussed in class. It is also used to show notes, quizzes, rubrics, and other written assignments to the students. The elmo is also beneficial for showing political cartoons to demonstrate a political view from a specific time period. The elmo is a wonderful tool for displaying work samples and visual documents that further the learning process.

Airliner
The airliner is used to navigate through powerpoint presentations, make notes, create charts, and emphasis class discussion notes. We also us it to show maps and other visual components that are computer animated. The students also use it as an interactive tool in the classroom. They can highlight key areas of discussion and actively participate in class with the airliner.

Microphone
The microphone is used during discussions for voice projection. Students can use it while giving project or research presentations. It is also used for basic sound projection; music from historical periods. The microphone has been really beneficial for improving the sound quality in the classroom. It also enables some of our hearing impaired students to receive information more clearly.

DVD/VCR
We show several instructional videos and film clips in our history department. This enables us to show varations of films that are related to the topics being discussed at that time.

CPS Clickers
Allows students to actively engage in class activities and answer questions related to subject material. Provides quick feedback to the teacher and gives the student immediate feedback as well. The CPS clickers are great for review games and short impromptu assessments after class discussions and activities.
